CAMP B:

Counselors for Camp B:  Benjamin & Gracie
Both counselors grew up in the Jingle Jamboree Music Summer Camps, Music Club and Music Classes.  One day I complimented Benjamin for the great job he was doing as a counselor and he said:  "When I was in the camp it was a great experience for me, so I want to do everything I can so the boys and girls will have the same experience that I did."  AND that is what makes a great counselor for the camps.

Music Club staying safe during Covid:

1.  All children and staff wear masks at all times.
2.  Children are socially distanced at all times (3 feet).  Currently the CDC is not recommending social distancing, but we will continue to do so.
3.  During song games children will use noodles to mark their distance either by holding the end of a 6 foot noodle or interlocking a folded noodle with a partner (still 6 feet = 3 feet per child).  The CDC originally recommended 6 feet then changed to 3 feet and now says it is not necessary.  (See pictures below.)
4.  Enrollment is 12-32.
5. All activities will be held outside when possible.  If activities are indoors all windows will be open, there will be a ceiling fan circulating the air and a hepa filter system will be running.
    a.  Hepa filter is installed in classrooms at OV and a ceiling fan
    b.  A Hepa filter that clears the air every 15 minutes is located at the music studio plus a ceiling fan.
6.  Windows and doors open if indoors.
    a.  At OV there are several windows that open in Room 4 plus an entrance door that will remain open.
    b.  At the music studio there is a large entrance door that will be propped open, 3 windows opened and a side exit door that will be propped open.
7. Families picking up their child need to wear masks and stay a safe distance from the entry area.
    a.  At Ocean View please stand away from the Room 4 entrance door
    b.  At the music studio please wait in front on the sidewalk for pick up
8.  Visiting - families are always welcome to visit during music club unannounced and silent.  If you decide to pop in please wear a mask and understand your child may cling to you or act differently in your presence = that's okay just continue to observe silently and I will encourage your child to join us in the activity that is going on.
9.  JingleJeff is always monitoring the newest recommendations from the CDC and Alameda County in order to update everyone's safety.
10.  If we are required to quarantine, then Music Club will go online with Zoom.  I have been very creative in making Music Club fun online, but let's all keep our fingers crossed that it won't happen.  JingleJeff is ready if it does.

This summer in music camp we all stayed safe during Covid due to following these guidelines.  I am very proud of my creativity in creating a safe and fun environment during in-person learning.

Let me know if you have any questions:  jinglejeff2@gmail.com or (510 334-8851 Text or call).
